During her time at B+H, Tanya Murray has worked in four of our studios including Toronto, Shanghai, Doha and currently—Dubai. Traveling, working, and living in different cities has allowed her to explore how a diverse array of cultural influences can inform inspiring design. A resident of Dubai, Tanya has observed this quickly developing city change first hand and with every passing moment, she notices the nuanced and layered essence of an urban fabric that’s filled with possibilities. Open to opportunities to delve into dialogues about urban planning and space making, Tanya feeds off the excitement of a city in the throes of massive development, innovation, and the construction of bold design concepts. Focusing on how architecture and urban planning affect people’s lives and their interactions with each other and spaces, she looks at how these design tools can be harnessed to unite communities in very subtle and unconscious ways.
Design Manager for our Dubai studio, Tanya has experience spanning sectors and scales. She helps to coordinate design efforts across disciplines and ensures that the integrity of each project’s original design intent is implemented in the built form. She also works with management to coordinate the marketing and business developments efforts coming out of our work within the Middle East and North Africa region.
Local context is so important to what we do and I enjoy my role in becoming a part of the urban conversation of every city while also integrating the collective knowledge that exists across the firm.
