Talent Spotlight: Alison Mazurek

International Women's Day 2026

3月 31, 2026

As part of our International Women’s Day series, we’re spotlighting the women of CHIL Interior Design, the dedicated hospitality studio of B+H, and the expertise they bring to our projects.

We sat down with Alison Mazurek, FF&E Procurement Specialist at CHIL, to talk about favourite projects, Give to Gain, and the women who inspire her.

The theme for IWD 2026 is ‘Give to Gain.’ If you could go back in time and ‘give’ one piece of advice to your younger self on her first day in the industry, what would it be, and what do you think she would ‘gain’ from knowing it sooner?

I think I would tell her that she belongs. Even if it doesn’t always feel that way. There is room in this industry for many perspectives, talents, and skill sets.

Who are some women in design you admire or are inspired by?

I’m always inspired by my team here at CHIL. And I’m also inspired by our clients; often, great ideas come out of the design process and the back-and-forth. In the larger industry, I am very inspired by women designers creating products/furniture, such as Sabine Marcelis, Kristina Dam, Sarah Ellison, MSDS studio, and so many more!

Of all the projects you’ve brought to life at CHIL, which is the one that you’re most proud of?

A recent favourite was the Subpenthouse Display Suite for Landmark and Asia Standard. The client was very kind and collaborative, and we were able to create a warm and inviting space featuring beloved furniture brands, custom millwork, and Canadian artists and manufacturers (ANDlight, Nathalee Paolinelli, Janaki Larsen, Studio Julien Peletier, Tannis Marshall, and Rubeena Ratcliffe).

The views didn’t hurt either. And I love knowing that someone lives there now. I hope they love it as we do!
