Located at the intersection of Front and Simcoe St, 160 Front St stands as a 54-storey commercial tower with TD Bank Group as its anchor. At the core of Toronto’s Financial District, the development encompasses approximately 134,766 square meters of commercial gross floor area. In addition, commercial parking is provided for 372 cars in a below-grade garage. The building will be connected to the PATH system, which will cross Simcoe Street underground to the west.
In collaboration with AS+GG, the new office tower preserves the façade of the 6-storey heritage building in the site’s southeast section. Every aspect of the building is intentional, including its unique shape. As it rises, the building widens and then gradually narrows towards the top, a deliberate feature that effectively counteracts the downward force of the wind. This thoughtful design ensures a more comfortable environment for pedestrians at street level.
Near the top of 160 Front is a plant-filled study and sky garden meant for introspection as well as quiet work and deep learning. The large open-air area provides its tenants with exceptional city views.
Designed as a “vertical city”, the building is designed to be its own neighbourhood with amenities and landmarks located throughout the office to accommodate the TD workspace. This leading-edge office building will provide the latest in smart building technology and efficient design. 160 Front is designed to achieve LEED Platinum and WELL Building Standard certifications.
