While Alkim Sonmezocak has worked on developments spanning many sectors, his current focus is within the healthcare sector. A complex process of understanding the many needs of future users, Alkim has plenty of experience working together with his clients to unpack the essentials of each development. Often the one people go to with challenges or queries to flesh out next steps throughout the process, Alkim takes his time to explain why things are done a certain way and mentors his team through a collaborative approach. Dedicated to facilitating a smooth process, Alkim works with internal teams, contractors, and clients to work out kinks as they arise by instilling a sense of mutual trust.
As an architect, you have to put your ego aside and do what’s best for the client.
Leveraging over 40 years of experience, Alkim has seen how healthcare design principles have changed over time. Over the last decade particularly, he’s observed a shift in the importance of patient care and wellness as well as infection control within the overall environment of healthcare facilities. As requirements and guidelines change, Alkim applies a practical approach to create the most value and ensure high performance levels without compromising quality.
