Talent Spotlight: Charissa Leung
International Women's Day 2026
This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to spotlight the women shaping CHIL Interior Design, B+H’s dedicated hospitality studio.
We sat down with Charissa Leung, Junior Interior Designer at CHIL, to hear her reflections on confidence, creativity, and inspiration through the lens of this year’s theme, #GiveToGain.
The theme for IWD 2026 is ‘Give to Gain.’ If you could go back in time and ‘give’ one piece of advice to your younger self on her first day in the industry, what would it be, and what do you think she would ‘gain’ from knowing it sooner?
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice on her first day in the industry, it would be: don’t be intimidated by the loudest voices in the room. Just because someone is more aggressive doesn’t mean they’re right. Design is subjective — there isn’t one perfect answer. The important thing is staying open-minded, listening, and trusting your own perspective.
When you’re not in the studio, what’s something that you’re passionate about?
Even outside the studio, I’m always creating! At the moment I love 3D printing. It’s my favourite way to experiment and keep creativity flowing without deadlines or expectations.
Who are some women in design you admire or are inspired by?
Women in fashion! Iris Van Herpen, Sohee Park and Yiqing Yin
