What’s your favourite place to have visited in the world and why? Portugal – it’s the perfect mix of beaches and city and the ease of travelling once we were there. But, there are so many places I haven’t been yet…

How would you describe your approach to design? Less is more. Usually I’m removing an object or a design element to try to say the most with the least amount of things.

What makes a successful team? Collaboration, from my colleagues, to the trades and suppliers – I love to ask questions and get feedback from everyone who is an expert in their field. I don’t have all the answers but if I remain curious and open, I find we usually get to the best results and everyone hopefully feels more invested in the work.

What might people be surprised to know about you outside of work? We have a camper van, an ’82 Westfalia, and are often getting outside camping with the kids so our city kids can run wild and we can get back to nature. Our favourite spots are the gulf islands and Tofino. It’s never not tiring but it’s worth it.

What’s your favourite TV show and why? My favourite TV show of all time is Friday Night Lights. Try a few episodes and I promise you will be hooked! The relationships, the camerawork, the heartbreak and hope. The best marriage portrayed on TV and Tim Riggins. I truly don’t care about Football and I love this show.

What are the top 3 items on your bucket list? A trip to Italy, a trip to Copenhagen and the elusive perfect sofa that is equally comfortable, beautiful and affordable.

What words do you live by? “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” – William Morris

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing? I would really love to make furniture, particularly wood furniture. If I wasn’t procuring furniture I would love to design and make furniture.

What’s your favourite book and why?
I don’t think I could pick a favourite but a couple books I recently read were Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner and I’ll Show Myself Out by Jessi Klein. Both have themes of motherhood/mothering and reconciling your upbringing with the modern world and I loved them both.
