In 2023, Kaua’i Federal Credit Union partnered with B+H Biomimicry to redesign its economic resilience center and establish a new economic model on Kaua’i. Recognizing the importance of aligning design with the essence of a place, we emphasized the involvement of those who share the longest and most profound relationships with it.

Through extensive consultations with Indigenous leaders, a Living Story document was crafted, outlining crucial principles and methodologies for a design and program guided by Indigenous perspectives. Biomimicry serves as a bridge, amplifying Traditional Indigenous Knowledge and ensuring their pivotal role in shaping the island’s future.
