A community on the rise, the Rideau and Chapel corner is part of a sweeping revitalization extending eastward along Rideau St., directly into the core. Close to downtown, the University of Ottawa, and Parliament Hill, this prominent corner will become even more desirable with the nearby soon-to-be Rideau LRT Station, connecting to the city’s metro system.
Collaborating with our client and the City of Ottawa, we’re defining the details for this in-progress development that introduces a new typology addressing the area’s need for increased density. Current plans include two distinct residential towers and a podium with retail at-grade. The retail portion of the development is positioned on the south side and capitalizes on its exposure to Rideau Street—a main thoroughfare for the downtown core. The north-facing side of the development overlooks the area’s low-rise residential community and offers residents unobstructed views and calm surroundings.
