‘Modern Day Wilde’ is the guiding concept behind the Wilde, the latest fine dining venue on the 27th floor of The Dorian, an Autograph Collection.
As Calgary shifts to become a destination for the young and successful, we draw inspiration from some of Wilde’s most notable traits including his unique take on society, his progressive sense of style, and his love for the good life.
Wilde’s sharp wit and ability to surprise inspired the whimsical and playfully designed features peppered throughout the restaurant. Unique details and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces are found at every turn, teasing guests with creativity and ‘Aha!’ moments to discover.
Thoughtful juxtaposition between modern and old English elements were studied to allow us to create a space that is uniquely Calgary with an homage to the time where Oscar Wilde was from.
The saturated colour palette of deep green, blue and purple is equally hip and restrained.
European sophistication combines with the region’s beautiful geography to create a richly layered environment that embodies a new and modern sense of Wild(e).
We did not shy away from layering patterns and textures to create a space that tells the story of the famous author and playwriter imaging Oscar Wilde being alive today.
